wireless help please XD

okay.
so i got a laptop the other day, i have had the internet connected and working on my wireless network. but this morning when i got up the internet wouldn't work on it. (i tried all the options in the useless vista troubleshoot)

so the laptop is connecting to the router but it isnt able to access the internet. it says "connected with limited access"
and is showing my network as 'unidentified public network' even after i manually change it to private network.
and under that it says Access: Local Only.
with IPV4: "local"

laptop OS is vista (i didn't buy/pay for the laptop. so dont bitch about it please)




any help would be good.
i've searched the net on my desktop pc and can't find any solution to this.

Ensure that your modem & phone filters are plugged in correctly (to the DSL/Cable)...

Also: try starting up a computer that's connected via ethernet to the modem, then try the wireless on your laptop.

Sounds like it might be the router/modem. Try power cycling em. I usually turn my comp off then turn the modem/router off wait a few mins and then turn back on again.

Try and repair the connection inside internet explorer or worst case reset your wireless modem and re connect.

i've tried all of those. lol

if i cant get it working by today i will take it into my ISP shop tomorrow and get them to sort it out for free.

Theres another method but it requires great skill, a sledgehammer and alot of duct tape
